Sitting in your car, you hate traffic...
But, as we marketers know, traffic means something totally different when it comes to your website...And we love traffic!
Back "in the day" it was thought, and put to test, that all a website developer had to do was to create a nice looking webpage, filled with images that painted a pretty picture, and intersperse the page content with keywords. That was thought to be "enough" to build some traffic to your website.
Google determined, and with good reason, that they wanted users to have a good experience when visiting pages that they queried in a search box as they ultimately would be building a relationship with that user.
And, it has become increasingly important to provide a good experience not only in getting the user to a web page but to find website pages that are relevant to the user's search query. Thus, if your website doesn't appear to be focused on the topic you're trying to promote, Google may not reward you.
There are no tricks, no ploys, and no reason to have either, in developing a website page that meets that criteria. And, Google will reward your website with an increasingly higher page rank and position in search engine result pages (SERPs) when your website says what it is and means it.
Remember, be true to who you are in business and in building your website, too.
